Spindletop Golf Tournament

Spindletop was founded with an invitational golf tournament in 1966, and it has grown over the years to become the world’s largest energy professionals charitable golf tournament.  Nearly 200 energy executives join together the week prior to the annual Offshore Technology Conference to raise funds for Houston-area youth charities. Under the direction of the Spindletop Board of Directors, the tournament is organized by the volunteer committee – the Spindletop Golf Ambassadors. The tournament is held at Memorial Park Golf Course, home of the Houston Open.
The Spindletop Golf Tournament format is a two-person shamble, allowing for a two-person team to win his/her flight with a low gross or low net score. The format also allows for one team to be crowned the overall tournament champion determined by a low gross score. The tournament recommends that all teams include a service company representative paired with a customer or vice versa.
